Hi everyone!

ICU Festival is over now!
It was fun! I was too busy, though. haha!

Anyway, about my presentation slides.

It was really hard to make very simple slides on which just about 3 words and a few images.
I put black title on each white slide, so I think they are really easy to see.
So, the contrast is good!

And about repetition, I put words in the same font on all slides. So, they are easy to see.

About Alignment.
Maybe I did well.
You can understand why I say so if you see my presentation.

Proximity.
I tried to make my slides easy to see, so I put images and words in the comfortable spaces.


Anyway, I focused on easiness to see when i made my presentation slides!!!

Finally, about experience of commenting peer reviewers' slides.
I think it is really convenient!! Thanks to this function,  we could make peer reviewers aware of their mistakes and the better way to make better slides with each other. We can improve our presentation more easily by this function. Probably, L will have some opportunities to give group presentation in the future. I will definitely use this function!!

Homework 6

Hi everyone!

It's Tuesday. This weekend, we gonna have an ICU festival!

1,Anyway, about EVERNOTE.

I think it is very useful and interesting in some ways.

First, the function of screenshot. We can save images on evernote. 

Also, we can cut out only the part that we want from the screen. It is very useful when we make presentation slides and we want to insert images!

Second, the function of bookmark. 

Thanks to this function, we can save its URL and some information.

Also, we can go to its original page by only one click! Wow!

Finally, the function that we can freely write on the images we save!

I was surprised at this function!

And what is more, it looks really really useful!

when I wrote a report in economics class in the spring term, I had a trouble to place arrows on where I wanted to. If I had known this function in the spring term, I did not need to have such difficulty......haha

Anyway, these are the learning potential of EVERNOTE for me:)

2,Next, about C.R.A.P

C....contrast

     　→color contrast...strong color contrast is important for good slides.

     　　　　　　　　　　we should use light color on the back, and strong color for   　　　　　　　　　　　words。

　　　　size contrast...Main title should be big and sub title should be smaller.

R....Repetition

　　　→repeat the same font, color and size all the way though.

A....Alignment

  　　 →Where we put words can change the cognitive impression so we should               think that where is the best place to put the words.

P....Proximity

　　　→The distance between Main title and subtitle should be close, but the one             between titles and such information as name should not be squeezed.

I know about contrast by my instinct. I feel that the slide with strong color both in the back and words is hard to see. Ideas of proximity and alignment are also familiar for me. However, the idea of repetition is kind of new.

So, when I make slides for the presentation, I will try to use the technique of repetition as well as other three ones.

3, About my topic
My final presentation topic is media, and I will write about how mass media in North Korea gives one-sided information both to the world and to the citizens.
I am really interested in this topic, so I am happy to have an opportunity to search and write about one-sided information by mass media.

Hi everyone!
How are you?
These few weeks are maybe one of the busiest ones for everyone:(
We have to deal with many things such as homework, but at the same time, I hope you enjoy this term :)

By the way, this is my 5th homework.

I found the article "Same-sex marriage in Spain" on wikipedia.
This is a featured article (FA).
I wrote about gender identity disorder in my essay, so I should have found FA article related to the topic. However, I could not. So, I chose "Same-sex marriage in Spain" because this is in the same category of gender. It can be said it is related to my topic in a sense:)

homework 4

Hi everyone!
How are you?
As you know, yesterday, we took a class about databases.
It was really useful because we could get a lot of information about some kinds of databases.
I already often use "ProQuest" when we look for sources. My favorite database is "ProQuest" because we can find only full text if we choose and so, we do not need to waste our time to distinguish full text sources from all. Also, I think that  "ProQuest" provides adequate sources. What is more, it also provides good citation.

For these reasons, I often use "ProQuest".
However, yesterday, I realized that there are other good sources such as "LexisNexis" not only "ProQuest". I want to use these sources for next essay!

In short, This class was really meaningful for me because I could get so much good information that is useful for next essay.
Thanks to these database, I believe that I can save our time when writing essay!

3rd homework

Hi ;)

This is my 3rd homework. This time my blog is about works cited!

In my essay, I try to write about Gender Identity Disorder (GID). I will use these books in order to get information about GID, for I do not know about it well. Especially, the first book is very useful for me because in my essay, I will write about children.

2nd Homework on survey!

Hello everyone! How are you? This is my secound blog. Thank you for your reading. In this blog, I would like to show you the result of my survey anout ICU life and my comment on it.

I hope all you guys have enjoyed your school life since you entered ICU.
Whether you have enjoyed it or not, you all went through spring term probably without any problems, even though the assignments are so tough.
So, maybe you are already used to life in ICU!
I wanted to know how do you feel about ICU after you know about it well. 
Now, I am so happy because 17 in 19 members answered my survey, and so, I could know your feelings! Sincerely thank you for your response

 

How much do you like ICU as a whole?             

		I hate ICU. 0 0% I do not like ICU so much. 0 0% I like ICU. 5 28% I like ICU very much. 13 72%   This graph show that all 2D students like ICU.  I am so happy to know this result because this means that many students are proud of their school.  I believe this is one of the good characteristics of ICU.
		Why do you like ICU? GIve me a reason! We have the liberal arts education with the great environment and facilities. I lave the nature in ICU It's because there are many people who has many different backgrounds and I can always get inspired from them. students are fascinating So many nice people!! Like the liberal arts program! Every student is independent and has a variety of views. I like the abundant nature of ICU. it's just a perfect environment for me! it's good place to enrich my English, and I can study what ever I want to! Its people! I like ICU's atmosphere. It's like a park! love the campus and people Section mates are awesome! good environment with good people! Because it has hatake because i feel free here and the teachers are enthusiastic about teaching eating lunch at Baka-yama is the best moment. Liberal arts Because students are great! These are reasons why they like ICU. Some refer to nature in ICU, and others refer to people in ICU....  In my case, I like ICUvery much because people in ICU are great!  They are intelligent, have creativity and critical thinking, and they inspire me:) I like ICU students. No 0 0% Yes 18 100% This shows that all 2D students like ICU students! It is very good thing.   How often do you sleep in classes? Never 2 11% sometimes 13 72% often 3 17% every classes 0

Through this question, I wantd to know whether classes in ICU are interesting or not.  Judged only from this result, some classes are not so interesting.  However, students' conditions and something else can be reasons for their sleeping,  so in order to know more anout them, I need more survey. Homework for 1st R&P class!

How do you think the tools or strategies that you will learn in this class will be helpful for your academic research? 

     I believe they are really helpful for our academic research in two respects.

First, we will probably learn tools and strategies to find good sources. They are very helpful because by knowing these skills, we can find reliable sources quickly. If we do not know them when we try to find sources to write academic reports, it takes much time to find good sources and also, the sources that we find may not be good. By learning tools and strategies to find sources, we can avoid wasting our time and using bad sources. 

     Second, in this class, I believe that we will learn how to give a good presentation. This skill is helpful in that we can find good way for presentation, and that we can get used to the presentation. We do not have so many opportunities to learn tools and strategies for presentation, so by learning them, we can get great skills that many students in other universities do not know.

How comfortable are you using technology for learning? What devices and apps do you use now that help you in your life as student?
 
      I cannnot use technology comfertably because sometimes it is too complicated for me. Also, I do not use new or interesting devices snd apps now. I want to know good devices and apps.
